Meet The Founder and Teacher

Leona Peters

I knew I wanted to be a teacher from the time I was in kindergarten. My teacher made learning come alive, and I discovered that imagination could turn even the simplest lesson into an adventure.

Years later, while in college, I came to know Jesus personally. Around that same time, a question unexpectedly came to my heart as I watched students showcase their talents: *What if those talents were used to glorify God?* That question became the beginning of the vision God was painting on the canvas of my life.

Not long afterward, God led me to South Korea to learn about education. Instead of simply learning new teaching methods, He transformed my perspective. I knew then that if I ever started a school, it would be Christ-centered and would help students discover and use their God-given talents to impact the world for His glory.

After returning to the United States, I spent several years teaching in public education, serving as both a classroom teacher and lead teacher. Those years sharpened my skills, strengthened my faith, and prepared me for what God had planned next.

Today, I have the privilege of serving as the founder of Heavenly Dove Academy. My prayer is that every student who walks through our doors will grow in faith, wisdom, and purpose, leaving prepared to share the love of Jesus Christ through the unique gifts God has given them.
